After the victory over “Navbahor-Farm” in the 11th round of the Pro-League, the head coach of “Lokomotiv” Denis Korostichenko expressed his opinion.
– First of all, I congratulate everyone on the victory. Finally, we completed the first round. As we expected, we finished the round in first place. In today’s game, a goal was scored in the first minute. Of course, we could score more goals after this situation. However, the opponent was able to show himself and played a good game with us. I will say once again that teams like “Unired” and “Navbahor-Farm” are trying to play football. It may not be pretty, but they are working in the right direction. They are trying to put pressure on the opponent, they are playing passes. They are not playing to keep the result lying down in the defense. Today, the ball went to both sides a lot, there were situations in front of both goals. As a result, the players quickly got tired. Maybe because of that, the game was full of pressure until the end. “Navbahor-Farm” also had good opportunities, we could have increased the difference in the score. Our goalkeeper also played a reliable game. Maybe by a small score, but we got the result. Thank you all. The guys tried to the end and finished the round with victory.
– The first round has ended, what will be the future plans?
– Now we will have some rest and then the guys will start individual training. A special program has been provided to the players, and they are preparing for it during the holidays. Then we will start training in Tashkent, and after 10-12 days of training, we will continue training in the mountains. We will return from there and prepare for the second round.
– How do you think the second round will go?
– I think the second round can be even stronger than the current one. Because many teams strengthen their squad during the transfer window. All teams played with each other and knew what their opponents were like. Now, taking everything into account, they put more effort into the second round. And we must not relax and work on it until the end.
– Will there be players coming and going in the squad before the second round?
– For now, we are working on this and are monitoring the players who can be brought to the team. We are satisfied with the players in the squad. For example, we can only bring local players into the squad. Because we have fully used the limit of legionnaires and it is clear that they will remain in the squad. There are no people to leave. Let’s see, maybe there will be some changes in the second round.
– A question outside the game: today will be the final of the UEFA Champions League and which team are you a fan of, which team do you want to win?
– It’s hard to say. I think the favorite will be “Manchester City”. Because the team is playing at a very high level. Perhaps one of the best in the world right now. However, “Inter” also has a good squad. This is the final. No one wins easily. Teams prepare for the final in a good mood. It will be an interesting game. I think “City” should win, but I want “Inter” to win.
